Hi< Suzanne: Lucknow and Goderich societys in District 8 are looking forward to comming to your convention. We do however have a few question about the meals. You did not tell us on the registration form what the meals would be. This is very important for us for dietary restrictions.
Hope to hear back for you soon.
    From my garen to yours:

    • Hi Andrea,

You deserve a big star for being so observant! You so correctly pointed out that we have not yet posted the meal descriptions for this year’s Convention. This info should have been included in the Convention Information package as there is insufficient room on the Registration form to do so but somehow we forgot to include it.

The information you require should be posted within the next 24 hours on both the District 13 website (www.ohadistrict13.ca)and the OHA site (www.gardenontario.org).

      Bye for now,

    Dear Shirley,

Thank you for your feedback. Catering meals is a real challenge. Convention hosts have to juggle providing healthy, great-tasting meals for large crowds at economical prices–no mean feat for anyone. I can promise you that we have chosen different breakfasts, lunches and suppers–desserts too for next year’s Convention.

As to checkout times at hotels, many have 11 am or 12 noon so they have adequate time for their staff to clean the rooms. I am paraphrasing but according to the Radisson site, ” Late Check Out can be as late as 6 pm (subject to availability)instead of the normal check-out time at no extra cost. Our (The Radisson) aim is to accommodate the needs of our guests.”

  3. Hi Suzanne:

The only glitch I found at the Barrie convention, was the food, the same dessert at every meal, (not alone in thinking this), and the food could have been better. Also, re the accomodation in the Student.s residence, which was excellent except for the fact that check out time was 11:00 am. There were some of us who were driving back home Sat. night and we had to pay an extra day for the room in order to have a place to clean up and change for the banquet. In other words, the rooms were vacated at 5:30 pm Sat. and paid for until Sunday 11:00 a.m.

Perhaps this will help you when planning your Convention.
